This is a wideband RF preamp used with our eggbeater antenna. It uses all SMT components on a small PCB that fits within the Polycase LP11F enclosure which serves as the base for the antenna. It can only be powered by +3.5V regulated DC power fed over the coax from the receiver. It is available as a component of the antenna and, in cases where attic heat may damage the preamp, is available in a separate enclosure that can be connected to the receiver.

roZettatm is designed to supply power to the preamp, incorporating an 82.5-ohm 1% resistor in series with a 10uH RF choke and a single strand of 0.005" copper wire. The wire fuse is not intended to protect the preamp but to protect the main board from a dead short in the coax or preamp. The fuse will blow at about 250mA. When used with other receivers, the circuit shown below is required at the receiver to supply power to the preamp. Refer to the datasheet for the Mini-Circuits MAR-6SM+ for recommended values.
