TTL to Insteon Translator (TTL2INST)

This is a DIY project that connects through optoisolators to the TW523 port of legacy Home Automation controllers (e.g. JDS, HAI, ADI) and to the RS232 port of a 2414S Insteon/X10 PLC interface and translates the controller TTL commands into Insteon and X-10 commands, sending them to the powerline using the 2412S. Optionally, an RF receiver module can provide inputs from X-10 RF remotes (e.g. Palmpad) or from programmable remotes (e.g. Pronto Pro, MX3000) depending on receiver frequency. A second RS232 port (using the 3.5mm stereo jack) allows for connection to a PC for configuring and monitoring. The 2412S supplies power to the adapter. Instead of a standalone FRAM, the roZettaTM RTC daughterboard can be used. This will allow for scheduling events based on time of day.

It can be constructed on our general purpose GP-DIY-PCB printed circuit board.
